Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed he hopes to welcome new signing Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony soon.
Pellegrini has lost patience with the faltering and unreliable fitness of his leading forwards by deciding to splash out on Bony.
He said: "The injury situation was part of the decision yes, of course, because we had too many injuries.
"It's normal that strikers are more injured than other players, especially here in England, where you need strong footballers and it's physical football.
"That's why I said last year, and this year also, that we need a fourth striker. And of course injuries are one of the reasons why he (Bony) should come.
"It's very important for all players to have competition (for places) because they have their best performance when they have important competition."
