Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has challenged the board not to consider selling Sergio Aguero this summer.
Aguero's consistent form has reportedly attracted the interest of La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona.
But Pellegrini said: "I don't think the idea of Sergio is to leave Manchester City.
"Big clubs do not sell their best players and I don't think Sergio will be going anywhere.
"Sergio is very happy here. You never know what can happen in the future, but he is a very important player here."
