Pellegrini urges patience with Man City academy

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has asked for patience before the club sees the results of their revamped youth academy.

City have been often criticized for buying their way to the success and not promoting talent through the youth ranks.

"I think with the academy we must be patient," Chilean said. "This club build all these things because young players are important.

"Maybe it is not always easy for young players, especially in big teams, to play in the professional squad but I am sure in the future we will have important players to come from the academy and will be part of our squad.

"It is important to be patient and to have years of working in the same way but, you never know, maybe some talented players can do it before."
