Pellegrini ready to go with Dzeko as Man City face Cavani frustration

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is ready to shut the door on a new centre-forward signing.

The Sunday Mirror says with Napoli insistent that Edinson Cavani will not be sold for less than his £52m buy-out clause, Pellegrini is exploring the possibility of handing Edin Dzeko a final opportunity to justify the £27m transfer fee that was paid to Wolfsburg two-and-a-half years ago.

Dzeko has stated he'd prefer to stay at the Etihad.
