Manuel Pellegrini was happy with Manchester City's performance in their 1-0 win over Toronto FC on Wednesday night.
The 2013/14 Premier League champions defeated the MLS club in a tight affair at BMO Field courtesy of young midfielder George Evans' stunning 84th-minute goal.
After the match, Pellegrini assessed both his side and that of TFC who are coached by Greg Vanney and sit fifth in the Eastern Conference table.
"Maybe it is not the best moment to play a game but it is useful, especially for young players," Pellegrini said when asked to analyse both the match and his club's season in the Premier League.
"Toronto is also thinking of their league but it was a good game and for the analysis of the season, I think it was a normal season which we will see how we can improve it."
Regarding TFC, Pellegrini added: "We know from coming here last summer, and we always see New York City, so we know the level of MLS.
"Toronto is a good team. Of course they are maybe thinking more of the game they have to play on the weekend but they have good players and I think they are a very good team."
City next take on Toronto's MLS rivals Houston Dynamo at the BBVA Compass Stadium on Thursday.
