Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini isn't panicking over their friendly defeat in South Africa to SuperSport United.

The Chilean conceded that it will take time for his new squad to play the way he wants.

"We're not prepared to play the way we want them to play yet so this was a normal match for pre-season," he said. "I'm not worried and this is what we expected.

"The first match is important but not to change all our preparations for the season to give our best in the first game. It's not always important to win."
