Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso's reps have offered him to Manchester United and Manchester City. The Daily Star Sunday says United are unlikely to make a move as Alonso is 32 and a former Liverpool player - the Old Trafford club's most-bitter rivals.

A deal in this month's transfer window, though, would see Real require a fee.
