Pellegrini hails 'important' Nasri after two-goal Man City display

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has heaped praise on Samir Nasri following his two-goal performance on Sunday.

The French midfielder produced a second-half brace to add to Alvaro Negredo's early opener in City's 3-0 home win over Swansea City and his showing was not lost on Pellegrini who is delighted with the recent form of the 26-year old.

"I think Samir played very well, especially the second half. He also played very well in the Champion League (win over Viktoria Plzen midweek)," he said.

"He is playing free, he is happy and he feels again he is an important player.

"The way he plays maybe is very comfortable for him also."
