The future of Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is again in doubt.

The Daily Star says there is a growing clamour for Pellegrini to return to Chile to take charge of the national team, while several Spanish clubs are keen on taking him back to La Liga to work there.

And it is understood chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is planning to lure Pep Guardiola to the big-spenders in 12 months' time.

Pellegrini is about to head into the final year of his current deal and has not been offered a new one.
