Sacked Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini admits he interviewed for the Liverpool job.
Pellegrini was eventually overlooked for Roy Hodgson by the Liverpool board.
"I would have loved it [the Liverpool job] but they opted for Roy Hodgson because they preferred an English coach," he said.
