Pele has denied allegations that he accused Manchester City star Robinho of being a drug-taker.

In an interview in the media, the Brazil legend said he once took drugs with Robinho at a party in Sao Paolo but has now come out and said the media got it wrong.

"Robinho is our son and left Santos with our supervision," Pele told TV Globo.

"What happened was a misunderstanding because I never said anything like that, they gave him wrong information.

"I know what the people who need to sell newspapers are like.

"When there's a story like this you need to ask for the recording to hear what was really said."
