Pedro expecting rapid change at Chelsea after difficult first season

Chelsea star Pedro is expecting improvement in his performances under new manager Antonio Conte next season.

Pedro joined Chelsea from Barcelona last summer with a reputation as one of the most dangerous attacking players in the world but the Spaniard was unable to produce his best on a consistent basis during his debut season at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old has now gone on to admit that he did not enjoy a fruitful campaign last term but is expecting rapid improvement from himself in 2016/17 when Conte comes in to restore sanity in West London.

"Leaving Barca was very hard for me, but my situation there was clear," he told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

"My chances at Barca were over and I had to make the decision but of course I feel nostalgia for Barca, I have spent many years there.

"The first months in London were hard - you change the culture, language, time zone... it's complicated. At Christmas we almost got to be in the relegation zone and at a club like Chelsea, we can't let it happen.

"I hope that everything bad I have experiences this year will serve me well to learn and keep improving. With the fans and team-mates everything went very well and I have no complaints.

"Now with Conte there will be a reshuffle and a change in the team's style and hopefully it goes well."
