Pearson looking forward to Hull challenge

New Hull boss Nigel Pearson is looking forward to "a big challenge" at the KC Stadium following his move from Leicester. His move to East Yorkshire came as a shock to many, but he admits that Hull's director of football operations, Pearson's namesake Adam, and chairman Russell Bartlett impressed him with their enthusiasm and desire.

"Once I found out how much Hull City wanted me it became quite an easy decision for me," he told the club's official website.

"I'm delighted to be here now and I'm looking forward to what is a crucial part of our preparation for next season.

"I had a pretty informal chat with Adam Pearson and Russell Bartlett and they talked about their aspirations and how they saw the club moving.

"They see me as somebody who has got a chance of realising those aspirations.

"We all want success and it's going to be a big challenge, but it's an opportunity for me to come into a club and change things somewhat.

"I want to be successful and so do Hull City. This is a fresh start for a lot of people and it will be interesting to see how the players respond."
