Pearson eager to give Leicester players freedom to express themselves

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson will allow his players to play with freedom despite the prospect of relegation looming large.

Currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, Leicester are under immense pressure to pick up points as soon as possible in order to be able to retain their top flight status.

Despite the huge burden though, Pearson is trying to keep calm and has urged his players to play with freedom rather than be cautious of making errors.

"I remember saying back at the start of the season that the points you gain and drop then are as important as the points that you drop or gain now," he told the Leicester Mercury.

"The focus becomes even more intense now because the maths becomes easier to predict and the pressures become slightly more intense.

"My job with the players is to try to release them from the pressure that comes from external influences. We have got to try to go out there and keep free and play games. We will give it the level of commitment that we have shown so far."
