Stuart Pearce hopes to be able to call on Manchester United defender Phil Jones for his England U21 team.
He will ask for the loan of Jones as his England Under-21 side face a crucial Euro double-header in Iceland and Norway next month.
With England's senior squad on the brink of qualifying for their finals, Young Lions boss Pearce will ask Fabio Capello to allow the Manchester United defender to boost his kids' hopes.
After starting with a 6-0 victory over Azerbaijan, Pearce said: "We have got two tough fixtures next.
"I'll follow club form and see we if can get one player from the seniors."
