Pearce prompts Arsenal to go after Man City star Yaya Toure

Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce has urged Arsenal to take a gamble on Yaya Toure next season.

With Pep Guardiola set to arrive as manager next season, there are rumours circling that Toure could be let go by City and has not ruled out a move to another Premier League side.

At 32, not many elite teams may want to take a chance on Toure but former City boss Pearce believes that the Ivorian could be a good signing for Arsenal next season.

Pearce said on the Colin Murray show on talkSPORT: "On his day Yaya Toure is outstanding. Arsenal need an old head within the team.

"Petr Cech has proved a fantastic success this year at Arsenal, and to have a player like Toure at the centre of midfield, as that holding type of player, I think he'd give one or two of the youngsters a bit of a lift.

"I think he'd be a good signing for them."
