England U21 boss Stuart Pearce hailed the performance of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba in their victory over Spain.

Muamba, who has admitted to a lack of self-belief, was outstanding in the 2-0 win and Pearce said: "I thought Fabrice Muamba was absolutely unbelievable.

"I've told him in the dressing room in front of the rest of the lads that it was as good a performance in an England shirt of a holding role that I've ever seen."
