England U21 boss Stuart Pearce hailed Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach after their 1-1 draw with Greece.

Pearce said: "Scott was outstanding, easily the player of the match. He made some top, top saves and was the difference between us getting a draw and losing.

"We are fortunate he was there because we made some basic errors in defence.

"I decided to pick him after working with him in the summer and seeing the experience he has picked up at Watford. He's a good member of the group and a very pleasant kid.

"Performances like this will help him go a long way."
