Pearce expecting Sunderland's Henderson, Blackburn's Jones to focus on England U21s

England U21 coach Stuart Pearce is certain that big-money moves for two of his stars will not shift their focus from the upcoming European Championships in Denmark.

Jordan Henderson will leave Sunderland for Liverpool whilst Manchester United have picked up Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers and Pearce says there is no surprise that big clubs wanted them and is confident that these two players will be putting all their energies into the impending tournament.

.

"If I put myself in their position I would want a deal tied up before I went to a major championship. I wouldn't want to be worrying about it while I'm at the championship and I think that was their mentality as well," he told Sky Sports News.

"So they've got those deals all signed and sealed. They were with us last night, then back on the training pitch today with no problems at all and we're pleased for them," he added.

"They are extremely talented players so I'm not surprised that clubs are looking to vie for their services."
