England U21 boss Stuart Pearce says Arsenal's Theo Walcott can be a star for club and country.

Pearce told The Sun: "He's made great progress. It's important that people understand he is the second youngest player in my squad.

"Theo is still two or three years younger than some of the other players in the under 21s.

"He's working for one of the best managers in the world and has played Champions League football for Arsenal this year.

"He's played a lot more football than he did last year and is at a fantastic club where he's free to play his football."
