England U17 coach John Peacock says they've been in contact with Jack Grealish since he was 14.

There remains hope inside the FA that the Aston Villa midfielder will reject the Republic of Ireland and commit to the Three Lions.

"We were well aware of Jack Grealish's talent at 14,'' said Peacock to the Sunday Telegraph. "We wanted to bring him into the set-up here with England but they decided to go to Ireland. That's his choice.

"They're not firmly entrenched because they can have that one move. There's a good young player, given the chance, and now relishing it."
