Payne a huge fan of North Queensland Fury

North Queensland Fury striker Chris Payne is a huge fan of his new club.

The 19-year old former Sydney FC man has been in sparkling form in the opening two matches of the 2010/11 A-League season, being involved of four of the teams five goals.

On the weekend, Payne set up both the Fury's goals in their 2-1 win over his old club but preferred to praise the fight of the players rather than bask in his own achievements.

"The passion in this team is amazing, we fight for each other, we are here for each other," Payne told the Townsville Bulletin.

"You could tell when we all went to the bench to celebrate the first goal."

Payne admitted he didn't really think about his old club as he was too focused on the bright green of the Fury.

"The only thing on my mind was playing for myself and the team, which I did and we got good result," Payne added. "The fact that I wasn't in a blue shirt didn't come into my head at all."
