Corinthian star Paulinho has confirmed he will leave the club to join Tottenham this summer.
Fresh off a commanding midfield performance for Brazil in their Confederations Cup final win over Spain on Sunday, Paulinho revealed that he will be off to North London after Corinthians accepted a reported £17million offer for his services.
"The other interest we got was of Inter Milan, but the only offer came from Tottenham," he told a press conference.
"The proposal came, we sat down, analysed it and decided. It was a big decision to go to a big club. There comes a certain point when you need new challenges."
He added: "I will not play in the Recopa (Sudamericana) because there are contractual requirements of Tottenham which cannot be discussed here.
"It was a decision that we all respect. Of course, I had a huge desire to win another title but the transfer has to be completed."
