Pato hands AC Milan Olympics headache

AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato is ready to battle club chiefs for the chance of playing for Brazil in this year's Beijing Olympics.

Milan are reluctant to release any of their players for the U23 tournament as they could face Champions League qualifiers in August.

"I want to go to the Olympics," revealed Pato. "I dream of winning a gold medal for Brazil, but it depends on Milan."

The 18-year-old, who has scored eight goals in 15 appearances since January, has moved to reassure the Diavolo that he is still committed to their cause.

"In the future I am counting on winning lots of trophies in Rossonero and a World Cup with the Selecao. I also want to become the best player in the world."
