Patient Naughton thrilled to get Tottenham chance

Kyle Naughton admits it is very pleasing to now be considered regularly for Tottenham first-team action.

The 24-year old has been given the opportunity to deputise for injured left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto with 15 appearances in all competitions so far this season and he is loving the responsibility after loan spells with Middlesbrough, Leicester City and Norwich City.

"I have had to be patient here at Spurs, it's taken a few years to get a run in the side," said Naughton on Tottenham's official website.

"But the gaffer seems to like the way I play, he's giving me a chance and it's up to me now to take it. I've played a few games lately and it's great to get consecutive matches.

"I've been pleased with my performances but the main thing for me is that the team got the points over the busy festive period.

"Hopefully we can keep doing well and I can stay in the team for a few more games."
