Liverpool No2 Colin Pascoe is delighted to be top of the league.
The Reds lead the way at the summit of the Barclays Premier League after three straight victories - all of which came by one goal.
"It has been a fantastic start for us," Pascoe told Liverpoolfc.com.
"For our first game we knew Stoke would be organised and hard to break down but we played well and created a lot of chances.
"Villa is always a difficult place to go and I'm sure a lot of teams will find that a hard place to get a result. Then to beat Manchester United on Sunday was another great result for us.
"Our message to the players after the United game was just about maintaining standards. We stuck to our standards for the first three games and it's important now not to drop them after the international break."
