Parma veteran Panucci demands apology from Genoa president Preziosi

Parma defender Christian Panucci has expanded on his bust-up with Genoa president Enrico Preziosi on Sunday.

Preziosi claimed that Panucci had started the row and previously attacked another Genoa director.

“I did not offend President Preziosi and in fact absolutely contest his version of events,” replied the veteran with a message on the official Parma website.

“At the end of Genoa-Parma I left the locker room and walked towards the team bus, where I crossed paths with President Preziosi and we said hello.

“I reminded him that last summer, when I was without a club, he left me for two days in a hotel room in Milan waiting for a meeting about a hypothetical transfer to Genoa.

“Having received no word at all on the matter, on the third day I left. I merely reminded him of this incident, adding that I am no longer a 20-year-old and that you need to behave properly in life.

“In response, he put his hand on my throat that the police, stewards and directors from both Genoa and Parma were witness to.

“If Preziosi does not make an official apology to me, then I will ask the authorities for permission to go through the civil courts.”
