Parma president Ghirardi convinced of Inter Milan upset

Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi remains confident of upsetting Inter Milan and beating the drop on Sunday.

Ghirardi has sacked coach Hector Cuper this week and insists: "I did it to improve the psychological approach of the squad. This is one of those games that is played with your head more than your feet, so I tried to give them that decisive shock to the system."

"What odds to Parma have of winning? I'd say 50 per cent," continued Ghirardi. "Tactics count, but the difference is made psychologically in a game like this. We may be desperate, but Inter aren't in much better shape…

"I will be at the training ground every day this week to follow the team. I have decided it is better not to put them in a pre-match training camp, though, as I don't want to put too much pressure on the players."
