Parma veteran Christian Panucci has told former Roma teammate Francesco Totti to forget about a comeback with Italy.

Totti has already declared he is available for World Cup selection.

"Totti is a great player and he is still very good. However, if I declare that I am finished with La Nazionale, I have to be consistent and not go there anymore," Panucci said.

"In the end I hope the best decision is taken, but if I were the player left at home because of Totti, I would go to [Lippi's house in] Viareggio and ask for an explanation."
