Parma say they could compete in Serie B next season.
The Ducali have been declared bankrupt, and will need to be funded by the Lega Serie A until the end of the season in order to complete their fixtures.
If their debts are not cleared by the summer, Parma will be relegated to the amateur leagues.
Parma have confirmed that administrators Angelo Anedda and Alberto Guion met with the FIGC: "Today Mr Anedda and Mr Guion met with President Carlo Tavecchio at the FIGC headquarters in Rome.
"They discussed the subject of recent reforms of Federation standards and how they impact on the current situation of Parma Calcio, in particular to the size and structure of the sporting debt.
"All of the meetings were held in a cordial and constructive manner, with a common desire to seek a positive outcome to the bankruptcy of Parma FC, which would lead to the registration of the team in Serie B."
