Parlour backs Henry or Vieira to replace Wenger at Arsenal

Ray Parlour has revealed that he thinks that either Thierry Henry or Patrick Vieira should succeed Arsene Wenger as manager of Arsenal.

Parlour was previously team-mates with the French duo at the Gunners and both have since taken up coaching since hanging up their boots as players.

Wenger's current deal at the Emirates Stadium is set to expire in 2019 and the end of this contract could signal the end of his time with the club given that he will be 70-years-old at that time.

Arsenal have been underwhelming in terms of winning trophies for over ten years and Parlour has backed either Henry or Vieira to bring major silverware to the club.

"If I was Arsenal now, I'd be looking in two years time, whenever it's going to be, and see who is going to be interested in taking over," Parlour told AskFans.

"Try and put it in place now. Managers don't hang around.

"Do you know who would be perfect one day? Patrick Vieira.

"He's manager at New York, but now he's probably in line for the Man City job instead of Arsenal. He's part of their club."
