Parlour backing Arsenal bid for Chelsea keeper Cech

Arsenal hero Ray Parlour hopes they can land Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech this summer.

Cech will leave Chelsea at the end of this season and is being linked with the Gunners.

"Wenger has three or four positions he has got to look at next season," said Parlour to the London Evening Standard. "He needs a central midfielder, he definitely needs a centre-half and the goalkeeping situation needs sorting as well.

"Whether Chelsea would let him go to one of their rivals is the burning question, but if Cech was available for the money reported - about £10million - it is a no-brainer. He would be first on my shopping list. I'd let Szczesny go if he wants to play more regularly because that wouldn't happen.

"It is nothing against Ospina but when you look at the games Cech has played in and the trophies he has won, he'd be a great addition for Arsenal. If you are going to challenge for the league, you need a top quality goalkeeper which Cech is."
