Pardew wants Palace to shoot their way out of trouble

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew says attack is the best form of defence in their battle against the drop.

Palace host Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday before going to West Ham and Southampton.

Pardew said: "We have to control a game, particularly when you take the lead. We were unsure of what we going to do, and were thinking, 'Will we sit back?'

"It might have been better for us if Liverpool had scored ironically. That's a mentality thing and something we are working on.

"We need to learn some lessons from this and we will. We have potentially a great starting 11. We had three or four missing and them coming back against Arsenal, whether in the team or the bench, will make a big difference to us."
