Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has told fans not to panic over their slow summer market.

Pardew has been unimpressed by the work of some of their Premier League rivals.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "Some clubs have brought in players that I wouldn't bring to this football club. I wouldn't read too much into that.

"Strikers are the hardest deals to do. I'm hoping for some good news this week."
