Tottenham are reportedly coming back with a £30m offer to tempt Newcastle in parting with star striker Andy Carroll. Toon boss Alan Pardew however considers Spurs are wasting their time as the 22 year old is nor for sale.
The in-demand hitman was in the stands at the Stadium of Light to watch the Magpies' 1-1 draw with Sunderland as he continued his recovery from a thigh injury.
Speaking after the game, Pardew said: "They can put together whatever they like. He is not for sale.
"I am going to say it one last time, he is not for sale."
Interestingly the two teams meet at St James' Park next Saturday, and Pardew is hopeful that Carroll will be fit to line up against his admirers.
He said: "I hope so. He was certainly smarting in the dressing room today wanting to play."
Asked if he was tempted, Pardew said with a smile: "No, not with one leg, no. I think that would have been a bit harsh on the other strikers."
