Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is set for a crunch transfer summit today.

Pardew has been in regular contact with director of football Joe Kinnear.

But today will be the first time since the summer he has sat down with Mike Ashley and Kinnear to discuss transfer targets.

"It is an important time for Joe, Mike and I to talk," said Pardew.

"Lee Charnley (the club secretary) is involved in the process as well along with Graham Carr.

"We'll be having a couple of meetings to bring everything together.

"We're all fielding different types of phone calls so we need to see where we are all at."
