Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says he'll spend wisely in the summer transfer market.
Pardew has Andy Carroll's £35 million fee burning a hole in his pocket.
"We have a big responsibility this summer, but I have really good confidence in my transfer record," he told the Sunday Sun.
"This summer is going to be very, very important for this club - and it will be important for me, Graham Carr, John Carver, Peter Beardsley and the rest of the staff as well. It is so important that we bring in players that are the right fit for Newcastle United because we want to go on and have a better season next year and aim even higher.
"I'm confident that we can do that because my transfer record has been strong.
"Look at my time at West Ham and the players I bought in - I like to think I did well on that side at Crystal Palace and Reading too."
