Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew says they won't pay over the odds for players.
Last August the Magpies were quoted an initial price of around £13m for striker Papiss Cisse.
They walked away at the time, before returning in January when the price was slashed to the region of £9.5m.
Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "The valuations will go up and down - we'll look at that.
"Someone's reputations will go through the roof, and someone's won't. That might affect the price."
