Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has praised his side for showing strength of character and resilience in their shock win over Manchester City on Monday night.
The south Londoners got the better of the reigning Premier League champions 2-1 at Selhurst Park, recording their third win on the trot, courtesy of a strong showing against a quality opponent.
Goals from Glenn Murray and Jason Puncheon either side of the break gave the Eagles a two-goal lead before Yaya Toure cut into the deficit for City but the damage had already been done as Pardew's men moved into 11th position with a victory to be remembered.
"Tonight was about resilience and great character within the team. Second half we dug deep and credit to our players, they were superb," he told the club's official website.
"We adjusted the midfield in the first half and we looked better. Our wide players were top draw defensively tonight.
"Manchester City played very well tonight, they had a lot of chances and we had a bit of luck. It's been a great night for Crystal Palace FC."
