Pardew expecting strong Newcastle showing when Arsenal visit

Alan Pardew believes Newcastle United are well-placed to take on league leaders Arsenal this weekend.

The Gunners travel to St James' Park to meet the sixth-placed Magpies on Sunday with Pardew expecting a terrific atmosphere in what could be a massive came for the north east club.

"This place will be rocking, and Arsenal know that. It's a difficult game for both of us, so let's see how we match up," he told Sky Sports after Thursday's 5-2 win over Stoke City.

"We have depth and a lot of quality, and we're working very hard. We're difficult to beat.

"Our fans want to win things, which we haven't been near for years. It's nice to have a team which is competitive."
