Steve Harper says he's staying with Newcastle United this season.

Harper, 37, was ready to move on this summer.

But he revealed to the Evening Chronicle: "On the first morning we came in, even before training, I had a good, positive chat with the manager, which was probably what I needed.

"It was a very good piece of man-management on the first morning.

"We had a good chat, and I have the bit between my teeth again."
