Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is confident of keeping together his squad.

Pardew says he'll only sell for an outlandish offer.

Asked if he could foresee any departures, Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "You've got to be on your guard. You're always vulnerable to a top, top club coming in and blowing us out of the water. We're keeping our eyes on everything.

"We've got some very good players here, and that's what I think some of our fans should focus on a little bit.

"We've got Sissoko - who's had five months in the division and will be better for it - and we've got Cabaye, who's as good as I've ever seen him.

"Papiss looks really well now now he's had that training. We've got Mapou, Colo and Tayls. We've got two great goalies and an Italian international full-back in Santon."
