Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew believes they have an advantage in the transfer market.
Pardew warned signing players would be difficult and time-consuming, but feels that the lure of St James' Park gives Newcastle an edge.
"The pool isn't big if your agenda is young players who fit into our wage structure," he warned. "We'll be in the same field as Marseilles, Villa, Everton and Tottenham so you've got to bypass all the barriers to get somebody like Cheick (Tioté). They're out there but you've got to work really, really hard.
"But the players I've approached would love to come to play with 52,000 roaring them on. If I'd ever had the chance to play on this stage, you've got to grab it.
"You can see players who've got a chance of Champions League football in France, Belgium and Holland playing in front of 10,000 people week in, week out. Here you can play every weekend in front of 50,000 and you've got to be inspired by that."
