Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has challenged his players to further improve next season.

Pardew hopes the competition for places will give Palace the best preparation for the 2015-16 season.

"I think the most important thing these players realise is that the new players coming in are not taking their place; they are coming in to potentially take their place.

"So, therefore, if we can mentally start a season like that they'll be real competition and hopefully we can get even better performances."
