Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits the club has been shaken by their poor run of form.
Pardew has admitted Newcastle have been "humbled" by recent poor results - and called for a response to start against Maritimo.
He said: "We have been humbled. But we have got to keep going. I don't want confidence suffering.
"I think when you've been humbled, there's only one way to respond. On Thursday, and on Sunday, I expect my team to respond.
"It would help us no end to get senior players back. That will arm me and make us stronger. We are humble at the moment."
