Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits his squad needs more British players.

Pardew's relationship with controversial director of football Joe Kinnear has improved and they will work together to bring in targets.

"Joe has asked what I want, I've told him and it's his job to get it out of Mike Ashley," said Pardew.

"We need to look at British players because we're starting to get filled up with perhaps too many foreigners."
