Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits his players need to step up a gear to move away from the dropzone.
Pardew has challenged his players to show their worth on Saturday lunchtime against Man City.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "We've got the Man City and QPR games - they loom large.
"There's no reason why we can't win both of those. We've got to go and attack Man City.
"If we play at that level in the second half at Fulham, we've got a chance."
