Christian Panucci says Mario Balotelli faces a massive test to prove himself at Manchester City.
The former Inter Milan star's first full start in the Premier League ended in defeat at Wolves on Saturday.
Panucci, the ex-Inter and Real Madrid defender, said: "It is still early for Mario.
"He is a huge talent, but in England it can be difficult to play. Every match is a battle and opponents hit hard. He must get used to a new mindset right away."
