Former Real Madrid fullback Christian Panucci believes Jose Callejon was good enough to play for the Spanish giants.

The Spain winger is now a star in Italy with Napoli.

Panucci told Mediaset: "Callejon has great running skills, in Madrid he could do well but, being young, he was made to go away because Real is a team of stars.

"In Italy he is doing very well, showing all his qualities."

Callejon is in his third season with Napoli.
