Fulham boss Mark Hughes has told full-back John Pantsil that the end of the campaign will be soon enough to discuss a new contract at Craven Cottage. The former West Ham man is out of contract in the summer and could leave on a free transfer unless he is secured on longer terms.
However, Hughes insists the 29-year-old stopper needs to play well between now and the end of the campaign in order to win fresh terms.
"There are a number of players this year that are in the last year of their contracts and we're working our way through him," Hughes told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle.
"I've spoken to John on a number of occasions. He needs to play well between now and the end of the season and I'm sure we'll have the conversation then."
